I sleep in, or at least lounge around in bed for a good portion of the day on Saturday. ![]() We have a family meal that is elaborate and light candles and go around the table and share what we are grateful for. We choose to celebrate it from Friday evening to Saturday evening. These are the dishes we use for holidays, they are special (that word: holiday - holy day - set apart) We have holy dishes at our house (you probably do too). The word holy means set apart for a special purpose. I'm not here to discuss the merits of keeping one day over another as a day that is set apart, but merely to suggest that as human beings we need one day in seven to reconnect with the force that gives us life.
